Role Overview

Kitchen Assistant - School Catering | Birmingham Immediate Start | £14.00-£15.00 per hour | Weekly Pay Are you an experienced Kitchen Assistant looking for school work with an immediate start? Berkeley Scott is currently recruiting a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join a school catering team in Birmingham. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of fresh ingredients according to specifications
• Operating commercial kitchen appliances, fryers, ovens, and dishwashers safely and efficiently
• Washing pots, pans, utensils, and sanitizing kitchen prep stations throughout service
• Monitoring food storage temperatures and completing food safety checklists (HACCP)
• Unloading catering deliveries, rotating stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles
• Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene, waste management, and environmental health compliance

Candidate Requirements

• Enthusiastic attitude with a passion for food and working in high-tempo culinary environments
• Food Hygiene Level 2 certification is an advantage, or willingness to complete during training
• Ability to work standing for extended periods and stay calm during busy lunch and dinner rushes
• Punctual, dependable, and committed to maintaining high standards of food safety
• Valid right to work in the United Kingdom

What Is Offered

• Compensation: £29,120 - £31,200 / yr
• Contract Type: FULL TIME
• Location: Ladywood, Birmingham
